Entryway makeover

Since the day that I bought the new bench, I've started thinking that I was sick of the walls color in my entryway. It's a nice color, but it doesn't fit anymore! The space is limited and there is not natural light, so this kind of "lavander" (I have no idea which name has this color!) it was too delicate. After a quick visit to the colors shop, I've made my decision: FUCHSIA! Of course combined with my lovely turquoise (I still had some color from my bedroom). At the beginning I was afraid to the result, but in the end I can say that I did the right choise! Now the bench stand out from the pink wall and I love the colors combination.
Well, I think that is time to make another poster: "It's NOT all blue"!

Dal giorno che ho comprato e messo nell'atrio la nuova panchetta, ho iniziato a pensare che il colore delle pareti dell' ingresso non mi piaceva più. Si tratta di un bel colore, ma ormai non ci stava più bene! Lo spazio qui è limitato e non c'è luce naturale, per cui questo color "lavanda" (non ho idea di che nome abbia questo colore!) è decisamente troppo delicato. Dopo una rapida visita al negozio dei colori, ho preso la mia decisione: fucsia! Naturalmente in combinazione con il mio bel turchese (avevo ancora un pò di colore dalla mia camera da letto). All'inizio avevo un po' paura del risultato, ma alla fine posso dire che ho fatto la scelta giusta! Ora la panchina spicca incredibilmente sul muro rosa e mi piace molto la combinazione di colori.
Beh, penso che sia tempo di fare un altro poster: "It's NOT all blue"!

Keep an eye on

It' a long time that I'm on Flickr (since 2007) and in these years I run into A LOT of talented people and amazing ideas.
All these people inspired me in this years and often I tryed to re-invent what I saw, like in this case. I have seen on Dottie Angel Flickr account this picture and since I'm a big fan of her works and I really love her style, I thought that would be a great idea make these wool jars for my studio.

E 'da tempo che sono utente Flickr (dal 2007) e in questi anni ho incontrato un sacco di gente di talento e di idee sorprendenti.
Tutte queste persone mi hanno ispirato in questi anni e spesso ho provato a re-inventare quello che ho visto, come in questo caso. Ho visto su Flickr questa foto di Dottie Angel e dato che sono una grande fan dei suoi lavori e mi piace il suo stile, ho pensato che sarebbe stata una grande idea fare questi vasetti di lana per il mio studio.

Christmas is in the air..to be honest, a very cold air here in Eindhoven!

It's time for me to leave the blue apartment and come back to Italy, to my family and friends to celebrate together. Since I don't have my computer with me, will be quite difficult to post thoughts and pics as usual I do. So, in advance, I wish to all of you a Merry Christmas and a good start of the 2011! I'm greatful to all of you who reading this blog (92 lovely people!) aid to make me feel happy and (in some way) special.

Natale è nell'aria..ad essere onesti, un' aria molto fredda qui a Eindhoven!

E' il momento per me di lasciare l'appartamento blu e tornare in Italia, dalla mia famiglia e dagli amici per festeggiare insieme. Dal momento che non ho il mio computer con me, sarà molto difficile pubblicare pensieri e foto, come faccio di solito. Così, in anticipo, auguro a tutti voi un Buon Natale e un buon inizio di 2011! Sono grata a tutti voi che leggendo questo blog (92 persone meravigliose!) mi aiutate a farmi sentire felice e (in qualche modo) speciale.

Flea market style

Here my purchases to the flea market (remember the post ?). I like the kitchen supplies, especially the vintage one, and this round I found a pirex bowl, a very nice tea set and a china dessert plate, that I would like to hang on the wall). The lucky thing is that this flea market is 10 km far from my home and I don't have the car..otherwise would be a disaster!

Ecco i miei acquisti al mercato delle pulci (ricordate il post ?). Mi piacciono gli oggetti per la cucina, in particolare quelli vintage, e a questo giro ho trovato una ciotola in pirex, un servizio da tè molto bello e un piattino da dessert in porcellana che vorrei appendere al muro. La cosa buona è che questo mercato delle pulci si trova a 10 km da casa mia e non ho la macchina .. altrimenti sarebbe un disastro!

Tiny kitchen

A few months ago I start thinking to make some changes in my little kitchen. We are in this apartment for rent, so we can't transform the flat, but I needed some improvements. First of all we have this small Ikea table that in our previous apartment was a desk, that actually is really usefull in this tiny kitchen. The first idea was to buy a kind of cabinet, like a buffet, but after a lot of time look for it, I changed my mind. No one had the right dimensions or..the right price! So I enforced the "plan B". I bought to Ikea a very nice piece of blue fabric and two white Lack shelfs. I sewed the fabric and I attached it on the table, to create a storage place under it and I hung up the shelfs on the wall behind the table for all my teapots and kitchen things. Is not the "plan A", but for sure now is better than before!

Pochi mesi fa ho cominciare a pensare di fare alcuni cambiamenti nella mia piccola cucina. Siamo in questo appartamento in affitto, quindi non possiamo modificarlo troppo, ma sentivo il bisogno di qualche miglioramento. Prima di tutto abbiamo questa tavolino Ikea che nel nostro appartamento precedente era una scrivania, che è in realtà molto utile in questa minuscola cucina. La prima idea e' stata quella di comprare un mobile, tipo un buffet, ma dopo un sacco di tempo passato a cercarlo, ho cambiato idea. Nessuno aveva le giuste dimensioni o .. il giusto prezzo! Così ho applicato il "piano B". Ho comprato da Ikea un pezzo molto carino di tessuto blu e due mensole Lack bianche. Ho cucito la stoffa e l'ho attaccata con le puntine al tavolo, per creare un luogo di "deposito" sotto di esso e ho appeso le mensole sulla parete dietro il tavolo, per tutte le mie teiere e gli oggetti della cucina. Non è il "piano A", ma di sicuro ora è meglio di prima!

It's really friday?

This week, begun as a "quiet week", is finally ended. I did a lot of thing and, most important, I opened my on line shop. I already had my first buyer..I'm so excited..I want to do a very good job for her. So now, for a couple of days, I'll focus only on my crochet and on my interior styling school assignments.

E 'davvero venerdì?

Questa settimana, iniziata come una "settimana tranquilla", è finalmente terminata. Ho fatto un sacco di cose e, cosa più importante, ho aperto il mio negozio on line. Ho già avuto la mia prima acquirente..sono così emozionata..voglio davvero fare un buon lavoro per lei. Quindi ora, per un paio di giorni, mi concentrerò solo sul mio uncinetto e sui miei compiti della scuola di interior styling.

Ok ok, I know..is not Christmas yet..but my present is already here! Thank's to my husband ♥ I have finally a Wood & Wool Stool!!
I already told about Ingrid in others posts (the artist that produces and sells this nice item that you can find here: http://www.woodwoolstool.com/) and now I'm a proud owner of one of her Wood & Wool Stool. I choose the pattern and the base color (white) and since she knows about my blue passion, she made the stool with some very nice and delicate lightblue pieces.
I'm so happy about it and I think that is perfect in my livingroom! Maybe for my birthday I might buy one for the studio! ;-)

Ok ok, lo so .. non è ancora Natale..ma il mio regalo è già qui! Grazie a mio marito ♥, ho finalmente uno sgabello di Wood & Wool Stool!
Ho già parlato di Ingrid in altri posti (l'artista che produce e vende questo bellissimo prodotto che potete trovare qui: http://www.woodwoolstool.com/) e adesso sono una orgogliosa proprietaria di uno dei suoi Wood & Wool Stool. Ho scelto il modello e il colore di base (bianco) e dato che lei sa della mia passione per il colore blu, ha realizzato la struttura dello sgabello con alcuni pezzi di legno in un piacevole e delicato color azzurro.
Sono davvero felice e penso che sia perfetto nel mio soggiorno! Forse per il mio compleanno potrei comprarne uno anche per lo studio! ;-)

I drink tea

I'm italian..but I'm not the tipical italian that loves coffee at every hour..
First of all I don't live in Italy, the only place where I drink coffee (honestly, there's no place in the world where is possible to drink a REAL italian espresso except Italy..maybe in Portugal..but...).
That's why I started to drink tea. I started some years ago, when I was student and I was alone at home. At first I start to take a break from my books, but that became a "rituals" of my afternoons. And now that I'm again a student, the tea time is still one of my essential daily pleasures (more than once in a day to be honest!). Of course I have my favorite tea, the licorice one, but in general I love all the fruits tea. And one of my favorite thing is choose the right tea for the right afternoon...for example: if is raining or the weather is not good I choose a cinnamon tea, but if the time is good, maybe with the last sun of the day, I choose a lemon tea or a orange tea. One of my last "discoveries" is the Lotus tea, bought in Amsterdam that comes directly from Hong Kong; I think taht it's very good and delicate.
And what is the better thing when you drink a cup of tea? The mugs and the teapot, of course!!
I'm sure..drink tea is a kind of art!

Sono italiana..ma non sono la tipica italiana che ama il caffè ad ogni ora del giorno e della notte..
Prima di tutto non vivo in Italia, l'unico posto dove bevo il caffè (onestamente, non c'è posto nel mondo dove è possibile bere un caffè espresso italiano VERO tranne l'Italia..forse in Portogallo...mah..).
È per questo che ho iniziato a bere il tè. Ho cominciato alcuni anni fa, quando studiavo all'universita' ed ero sola in casa. All'inizio era una scusa per prendere una pausa dai miei libri, ma alla fine è diventato un "rituale" dei miei pomeriggi. Ed ora che sono ancora una volta una studentessa, l'ora del tè è ancora uno dei miei piaceri essenziali (più di una volta in un giorno ad essere onesti!). Ovviamente ho il mio tè preferito, quello alla liquirizia, ma in generale mi piacciono tutto i tè fruttati. E uno dei miei preferiti è scegliere il tè giusto per il pomeriggio giusto ... per esempio: se piove o il tempo non è buono scelgo un tè alla cannella, ma se il tempo è buono, magari con l'ultimo sole della giorno, scelgo un tè al limone o un tè all'arancia. Una delle mie ultime "scoperte" è il tè ai fiori di loto, comprato ad Amsterdam, che proviene direttamente da Hong Kong e penso che sia molto buono e delicato.
E qual è la cosa migliore quando si beve una tazza di tè? Le tazze e la teiera, ovviamente!
Ne sono certa..bere il tè è una specie di arte!
