SuperEasy DIY: memo chalkboard line

Today I would like to show you a super easy and fun DIY.

I have a lot of message boards in my apartment, three or four in my studio, a couple in the kitchen and one right next to the door on the entryway. But I don't know why, ~~I'm~~ we're able to forget something every time! So I decide to create a "memo chalkboard line" ON the door! I've used a chalkboard paper roll that I've bought few months ago for another project and I've cut a line that I've put on the door. I'll let you know if it works! ;-)

Oggi vorrei mostrarvi un DIY super facile e divertente.

Ho un sacco di bacheche nel mio appartamento, tre o quattro nel mio studio, un paio in cucina e una proprio vicino alla porta di ingresso. Ma non so perché, io noi ci dimentichiamo qualcosa ogni volta! Così ho deciso di creare una "lavagna memo" SULLA porta! Ho usato un rotolo di carta lavagna che ho comprato pochi mesi fa per un altro progetto e ho tagliato una linea che ho poi applicato alla porta.

Vi farò sapere se funziona! ;-)

This week on my coffee table: CRAFTING A MEANINGFUL HOME

Hello everyone and welcome to This week on my coffee table.

This week I would like to introduce you this book, "Crafting a Meaningful Home", by Meg Mateo Ilasco (Photographs by Thayer Allyson Gowdy).

I'm always happy when I buy some new book, especially if it's a DIY book! And this one contains "27 DIY projects to tell stories, hold memories, and celebrate family heritage". The book is really well made, every project is explained in detail and at the end of the book, the appendix collect all the images that you can use to follow the instructions. The lovely thing is that the projects are realized by different designers, so they are very different among each other and in my opinion also easy to follow. I already find my favorite project: the doily rug! I just need the right rope!

Ciao a tutti e benvenuti a This week on my coffee table.

Questa settimana vorrei presentarvi questo libro, "Crafting a Meaningful Home", di Meg Mateo Ilasco (fotografie di Thayer Allyson Gowdy).

Sono sempre felice quando compro un libro nuovo, soprattutto se si tratta di un libro di fai da te! E questo contiene "27 progetti fai da te per raccontare storie, mantenere vivi i ricordi, e celebrare il patrimonio familiare ". Il libro è davvero ben fatto, ogni progetto è spiegato in dettaglio e alla fine del libro, l'appendice raccoglie tutte le immagini che è possibile utilizzare per seguire le istruzioni. La cosa bella è che i progetti sono realizzati da designer diversi, quindi sono molto diversi tra loro e, a mio parere anche facile da seguire. Ho già trovato il mio progetto preferito: il tappeto centrino! Mi serve solo la corda giusta!

A couple of days ago I've bought to the supermarket this nice green tea can.
I have to admit that I've bought it not just for the tea..but this can is really lovely! The color and the cherry flowers..it's a shame to throw it away. I've simply cutted the upper part and that's it: a nice vase for my flowers! Piece of cake!

Washi Tape Frames from Pugly Pixel

Un paio di giorni fa ho comprato al supermercato questa lattina di tè verde.
Devo ammettere che l'ho acquistata non solo per il tè..ma questa lattina è veramente bellissima! Il colore ed i fiori di ciliegio..è un peccato buttarla via. Ho semplicemente tagliato la parte superiore e il gioco e' fatto: un delizioso vasetto per i miei fiori! Un gioco da ragazzi!

Quick, Easy & Beautiful (Nursery) Art!

In addition to getting everything together for the RSA install next week, I've been hard at work completing a nursery redesign for a client who is scheduled to be induced today (hi Alicia!!). One of the hardest pieces has been finding art for above the crib--I even tweeted a few weeks ago about looking for good books to be used as art in a baby's nursery, but had trouble finding the perfect look. Low and behold I found it last week at a thrift store in the form of a Little Golden Book (remember those??).

I wanted to use a book that had good art but few words--this Bunnies ABC's was just the thing with it's slightly yellowed pages and simple (but colorful) illustrations.

I took 3 Ikea Ribba frames...

Three of my favorite pages...

Added a 12x16 mat from Michael's...

Mounted the pages to the back of the fake photo from the mat insert (see above) using good ol' Scotch tape...

And created some pretty beautiful art! I really love how the tint of the pages matches the outside mat and gives it a bit of a custom feel.

(don't worry, images on the back on visible once the frames are on the wall!)

Keep an eye on

It' a long time that I'm on Flickr (since 2007) and in these years I run into A LOT of talented people and amazing ideas.
All these people inspired me in this years and often I tryed to re-invent what I saw, like in this case. I have seen on Dottie Angel Flickr account this picture and since I'm a big fan of her works and I really love her style, I thought that would be a great idea make these wool jars for my studio.

E 'da tempo che sono utente Flickr (dal 2007) e in questi anni ho incontrato un sacco di gente di talento e di idee sorprendenti.
Tutte queste persone mi hanno ispirato in questi anni e spesso ho provato a re-inventare quello che ho visto, come in questo caso. Ho visto su Flickr questa foto di Dottie Angel e dato che sono una grande fan dei suoi lavori e mi piace il suo stile, ho pensato che sarebbe stata una grande idea fare questi vasetti di lana per il mio studio.

Grazie a lei e grazie a tutte le idee di Flickr!

Hello Blog land, I am not a lot online these days. Well at least I have an excuse now :-)

Sorry for the bad quality pictures. I will do my best to make better one's. But here you can see that I am progressing. The apartment has to be finished saturday because I have guests coming over. It will not be totally furnished, but at least all the paint work will be done. I hope so :-s

Work Work Work!!!

Its midnight and I am just out of the bathroom. Took all the paint away, even my hair was full of it. But at least I worked a lot on the new apartment today. This weekend I have to do the biggest part of all the paintwork. Here are some pictures of the action going on.

Work in progress again

Dear Bloggers,

Thanks for the compliments on my previous project. After that I decided to frame the ancient pictures my boyfriend bought this year. Last two weeks was very busy, because on top the office was moving :-s. So in the evening there was no power anymore to produce something nice on the internet. Here are some result of the framing jobs. They are sometimes 16th, 17th or 18th century pictures.

And on top of it I did some shopping and found a wonderful round frame with a portrait of a lady. The funny thing is that the wonderful blog the essence of frenchness made a nice articles about portraits. The more funny is picture number then it's our bed before we bought it from a Paris antique dealer :-). It's a small world!!!

Isn't it nice to be surrounded by such little beauty's!!!!

From several crap objects to one New item in my collection

In my last article I wrote that I was working on several projects. Well here are some results. Like everybody around the world already will know. I am always shopping!!!! I even have a cupboard with shopping bags :-). But I am always also buying objects that most people would "call" crap.

Two weeks ago I went out with my friends and what better to do than to go hunting for some crap the morning after a nice night. It's a good way to get some fresh air!!!

So I bought some frames. And one of them was a gold one with a bulb glass. There were some wonderful plastic flowers in them. My boyfriend called my crazy to buy something like that.

I don't have to say the flowers didn't live long. I think one hour after the frame came home the frame was empty.

The only question was "What to put in the frame"

One of my best friends "Tottie" bought such a frame also a time ago and did also some DIY on it.

After a week of sleepless nights. I saw the light!!! I have a big box full of old belgian money.

So after some trying and some glue here is the result, I hope you like it.

Night table

I'm looking for a new night table..my dream is a white Kartell Componibili (http://www.kartell.it/) designed more than 30 years ago by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, maybe vintage, but is very difficoult to find it (especially here, probably in Italy is not so hard, I don't know). So yesterday a found in this second hand shop a very nice table that I decided to re-invent on my way..that's the result! Very "IDA style"!

Sto cercando un nuovo comodino..il mio sogno è un tavolino bianco della serie Kartell Componibili (http://www.kartell.it/) progettato più di 30 anni fa da Anna Castelli Ferrieri, magari vintage, ma è molto difficile da trovare (soprattutto qui, probabilmente in Italia non è così difficile, non lo so). Così ieri ho trovato in questo negozio di seconda mano una tavolino molto carino che ho deciso di re-inventare a mio modo..e questo è il risultato! Molto "IDA stile"!

Obsessed by wool

Now I can confirm you: I'm obsessed by wool! As I already wrote, everything starts in Lommel, a few weeks ago and now I decide to try out my few crochet competences in some projects. After a couple of cushions I started the "lamp project". These are the very first pictures of this project! We'll see..

Come ho già scritto, tutto comincia a Lommel poche settimane fa e ora ho deciso di provare le mie poche competenze all' uncinetto in alcuni progetti.
