Flowers and guests

Hello everyone, I'm back! I've been a bit busy in the last days, because my uncle Romano and Gabriella (one of his dearest friend), came here in Holland to spend Easter with us. We really enjoyed their company and they were lucky to find such a beautiful weather. It was like summer! And I've loved my apartment in these days, it was full of flowers that Alberto has bought for the guests!
We've been to Amsterdam a couple of days and we've spent the last day in Utrecht..for "wild shopping"! (I'm considering to move there...).

Ciao a tutti, sono tornata! Sono stata un po' impegnata negli ultimi giorni, perché mio zio Romano e Gabriella (una sua cara amica), sono venuti qui in Olanda per trascorrere la Pasqua con noi. Ci è piaciuta moltissimo la loro compagnia e sono stati davvero fortunati a trovare bel tempo. E' stato come d'estate, incredibile! E l' appartamento in questi giorni era troppo carino, pieno di fiori che Alberto ha comprato per l'arrivo degli ospiti!
Siamo stati ad Amsterdam un paio di giorni e abbiamo trascorso l'ultimo giorno a Utrecht ..per lo "shopping selvaggio"! (sto seriamente considerando di trasferirmi lì...).

A vintage touch

Yesterday, at the end of the post, I've told you that we went to Amsterdam to visit a couple of stores that I saw in Ingrid's blog. I love this kind of places and when I've read about them, I immediately thought that it would have been cool go to Amsterdam and make some shopping! That's why I enjoy so much Ingrid's blog. You know, when you move to another country is not so easy find places that are not "famous", especially when you don't have so many friends that have the same interests. For this reason, when I read in some dutch blogs about interesting shops or second hand stores I write immediately in my agenda the address and the web site! Is a kind of "wish list". Anyway, we went to Neef Louis and Van Dijk & Ko. Neef Louis has a beautiful vintage collection: chairs, lamps, coffee tables, most of them from very famous brands. In Van Dijk & Ko you can find old furnitures from Hungary, Romania and Belgium..everything is beautiful and the choise is really difficoult. My first idea was to find a "commode" for our bedroom, but unfortunatelly our rented car was to small..So, we bought a very nice bench for our entry. I love it! What do you think, is not lovely? And also a pink lamp for my studio..the vintage touch that I was looking for!

Ieri, alla fine del post, ho scritto che siamo andati ad Amsterdam per visitare un paio di negozi che ho visto nel blog di Ingrid. Adoro questo genere di posti e quando ho letto il post al riguardo ho subito pensato che sarebbe stato bello andare ad Amsterdam e fare shopping! Ecco perché mi piace così tanto il blog di Ingrid. Quando ci si trasferisce in un altro Paese non è così facile trovare luoghi che non sono "famosi", soprattutto quando non si hanno tanti amici che hanno gli stessi tuoi interessi. Per questo, quando leggo in alcuni blog olandesi di negozi interessanti o negozi di seconda mano, me li scrivo subito nella mia agenda con l'indirizzo e il sito! È una sorta di "lista dei desideri". Comunque, siamo andati da Neef Louis e Van Dijk & Ko. Neef Louis ha una bellissima collezione di pezzi vintage: sedie, lampade, tavolini, la maggior parte di marchi molto famosi. Da Van Dijk & Ko. si possono trovare mobili antichi che provengono da Ungheria, Romania e Belgio... anche qui tutto è bellissimo e la scelta è davvero difficilissima. La mia prima idea era quella di trovare un comò per la nostra camera da letto, ma sfortunatamente la nostra auto a noleggio era troppo piccola..Così, abbiamo comprato una panca molto carina per il nostro ingresso. Mi piace un sacco! E voi cosa ne dite, non è bella? E anche una lampada rosa per il mio studio..il tocco vintage che stavo cercando!

Meet the blogger

Finally, 10 minutes for a quick post!
As I said in the last post this week I'm very very busy with my assignments for the interior styling school, but I would like to share with all of you this great event,  "Meet the Blogger" in Amsterdam (June 25th). I think that is a great event for bloggers and blog lovers, so go to Urban Style Vibes blog and take a look at the program (the final program is almost ready).

Come ho detto nell'ultimo post, questa settimana sono presissima con i compiti per la scuola di design, ma vorrei condividere con tutti voi questo grande evento, "Meet the Blogger" che si terrà ad Amsterdam il 25 giugno. Penso che sia un grande evento per i blogger e gli appassionati di blog, quindi cliccate Urban Style Vibes e date un'occhiata al programma (il programma definitivo è quasi pronto).
E ricordate che ho una (piccola) camera per gli ospiti! ;-)

Amsterdam shopping

One of the thing that I love about Amsterdam is the fact that every time that you go, you can find new amazing shops.
That's happened yesterday. I was in Amsterdam with my husband, my brother and his girlfriend and I found a couple of very nice stores. I want to share with you some pictures that I made and some info about them.

Una delle cose che amo di Amsterdam è il fatto che ogni volta che si va, si possono trovare nuovi negozi davvero incredibili.
Questo è quello che e' accaduto ieri. Sono stata ad Amsterdam con mio marito, mio fratello e la sua ragazza (che erano qui a trovarci) e ho trovato un paio di negozi molto carini. Voglio condividere alcune foto che ho fatto e alcune informazioni su questi negozi.

Me and Elena

I spent the last 5 days with Elena, an old friend of mine. We have a lot of passions in common, so we decided to spent her vacations around for flea markets and interior shops.
First of all, we went to Amsterdam at the saturday flea market in Waterlooplein. Here, the flea market is a big outdoor bazaar, best for the second hand clothing and full of general bric-a-brac. The prices here are not so cheaper, but they still remain competitive compared to the shops.I bought a very nice leather jacket just for 25 euros! After a little break for eating chips and croquette (not a very good diet but "lekker") we went  to the flowers market and in this oriental shop that I love (www.tahwa.nl). We spent around 45 minuts in this shop, fashinated from the porcelains, furnitures and from the beautiful orientals accessories. After that we went in another nice shop, specialized in posters and postcards (Friends of Art, Keizersgracht 510). Finally here I found a Hokusai poster for my bedroom, "The great wave of Kanagawa"(http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_Great_Wave_off_Kanagawa.jpg). Elena in the evening surprised me with a birthday gift: a Japanese bowl that she bought in the oriental shop!! Is so nice and delicate..
We spent a lot of time toghether and I'm very happy about that..we are used to see each other just by skype!!







Ho passato gli ultimi 5 giorni con Elena, una cara amica di vecchia data. Abbiamo un sacco di passioni in comune, così abbiamo deciso di trascorrere la sua vacanza in giro per mercatini e negozi di design. Prima di tutto siamo andate ad Amsterdam al mercato delle pulci del sabato di Waterlooplein. Qui, il mercato delle pulci è un grande bazar all'aperto, ottimo per l'abbigliamento di seconda mano e pieno di bric-à-brac. I prezzi qui non sono così economici, ma rimangono ancora competitivi rispetto ai negozi. Io mi sono comprata una giacca di pelle molto bella per 25 euro!Dopo una piccola pausa per mangiare patatine e crocchette (non una dieta molto sana, ma "lekker") siamo andate al mercato dei fiori e in questo negozio orientale che amo (www.tahwa.nl). Abbiamo passato circa 45 minuti in questo negozio, affascinate dalle porcellane, dai mobili e dai bellissimi accessori. Dopo di che siamo andati in un altro bel negozio, specializzato in manifesti e cartoline (Friends of Art, Keizersgracht 510). Finalmente qui ho trovato il poster di Hokusai che cercavo da tempo per la camera da letto, "La grande onda di Kanagawa" (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_Great_Wave_off_Kanagawa.jpg). Elena, la sera mi ha sorpreso con un regalo di compleanno in anticipo: una ciotola giapponese che ha comprato nel negozio orientale!..e' veramente molto bella e delicata.
Abbiamo passato un sacco di tempo assieme e sono molto contenta di questo..di solito siamo abituati a vederci solo su skype!
