I moved into a small condo in Summit County over the weekend. This is the sunset from my balcony. I have already started finding new trails west of Vail that I would not normally be able to do on a day trip from Denver. Stayed tuned for new trail posts.

It has been nice and warm this week and I have enjoyed sitting out on the patio. On Tuesday I was resting under the trees when I heard a scream from the house..."Get your camera Miss Blog and take a picture of this sunset." Glad I did.

Once again I have been shooting sunsets on my way home. Today I left after the colors had reached their peak. The last couple of days have been spectacular with the Chinook winds and all the clouds.

The tree plaza at NCAR has the most incredible views and this time of year I am there for both sunrise and sunset.


Sunrise. The colors were more muted. The small rectangles along the horizon are the high rises of Denver.


Sunset. Looking south. The clouds lately along the Flatirons have been very dramatic.

1.5 miles into the park looking at the front range.
Dusk has become my favorite time to take the dogs to the Westminster off-leash Dog Park on Simms. This 420 acre open space has fantastic views of the Boulder Flatirons and Stanley Lake. Without a tree in sight, it is big-sky expansive. There are still seven species of flowers blooming despite the September chill.
